Vermilion Lakes Trail connects the three lakes in the Bow River valley at the foot of Mount Norquay. It is likely that they were once one body of water and a special place where centuries ago aboriginal people hunted bighorn sheep and bison. Vermillion Lakes are still a good place to spot elk, mule deer and white tail deer in early spring, and elk in the rutting season of Sept/October.
