St. Gerard’s Roman Catholic Church was built in 1966, after the previous chapel, built-in 1948, was destroyed by the 1961 hurricane. St Gerard’s has a unique facade of pebbles, stones, timber and tiles, open-air side walls and a ceiling shaped like the hull of a ship. It is now used for events such as weddings, but guided tours are run by the National Trust of Anguilla. The larger adjacent church, built-in 2008 in a similar style, is now Anguilla’s main place of Catholic worship.
Masses are held at St Gerard’s on Tuesday at 6.15 pm (English), Wednesday – Friday: 7:30 am (English), Saturday: 6 pm (English), & Sunday: 9 am (English)
