The Jamek Mosque is officially the Sultan Abdul Samad Jamek Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur. It stands on the confluence of the Klang and Gombak River. It was designed by A.B. Hubback (1871-1948) in the Indi-Saracenic style and built on the site of an olf Malay burial ground between 1908 and 1909. It is sometimes described locally as the ‘Friday Mosque.’ It was refurbished in 1984.
