Holy Trinity Anglican Church was built in 1894. Religious freedom was granted to the island in 1783, although less than 2% of Saint Lucians practice the Anglican faith. Next to it there is a cemetery where several well-known figures are buried, including Sir Allen Lewis, GCMG, GCVO (1909-93), who was Governor-General from 1979-80, and 1982-87, and was the brother of the famous economist, Sir Arthur Lewis.
