Fremantle Town Hall is a prestigious example of classical 19th-century architecture in Australia. It’s official opening on 22 June 1887 coincided with celebrations for Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee and it was formally named by the Mayor, Daniel Keen Congdon (1836-1907) and the State Governor, Sir Frederick Broome (1842-96), as the Town and Jubilee Hall. Today it serves as a venue available for hire. Its original grandeur creates an inspiring and breathtaking backdrop for any function and its tower contains a clock on each side. Tourists can walk up there to admire the views of Fremantle.
