Cook Island Peace Garden
The Cook Island Peace Garden is opposite the University of the South Pacific, on the Makea Tinirau Road and next to the Library and Museum. This is a serene and beautiful garden with lawns and trees lining it. In the 1960s it used to be the first botanical garden on the island, but it has been turned into a peace garden, and it is freely open all the year-round. The garden was officially opened on 12 November 2000 during the 21st Pan Pacific South East Asia Women’s Association International Conference as a place of learning, to be at peace and in harmony with nature. It was designed and landscaped by the Pacific Peace Garden Trust.
