Beckton District Park is bordered by Stansfeld Road on the South, and Tollgate Road on the North. It is an expanse of greenery, tucked away in East London. The main path leads through woodland before opening into a meadow that blooms with wild flowers in the Spring. Its prime attraction is its large lake, which has a shingle beach leading to its waters. A tree trail was created to celebrate the Millennium, and there is a fishing club, the Newham Angling Club, which welcomes new members. The park is normally open from dawn to dusk, and its other facilities include a football pitch, nature area, play area, cycle route, basketball court, the Will Thorne Pavilion (which is available for hire), cafeteria, public toilets and wheelchair access.Â
