Banff National Museum Historic Site was built in 1903 and also served as the park headquarters for many years. It houses more than 5,000 vintage specimens – from stuffed bears to minerals – collected mainly during the early 1900s. It is western Canada’s oldest natural history museum and known to Canadians as the “University of the Hills”.
